Wow! This week is killing us both. I started back to school on Monday. You'd think I'd be used to the energy it takes to teach- but I'm not. I'm exhausted. Completely. It is rather sad actually. Of course, it doesn't help that the Olympics are on, and I'm a huge fan of the event. All the teachers at the school walk around saying, "Can't wait for the Olympics to end so I can get some sleep."
(Example: I'm currently watching the final of the men's beach volleyball. It is after 11. I know who wins. I still can't go to bed.)
Andy also started school this week. Classes began on Wednesday. He's taking a film class, bio, math, and design. This is the first night in awhile that he's gone to bed before me. He's usually staying up while I'm passing out. Who would have thought sitting in class would take so much out of you? (I guess I should sympathize with my students more.)

Benson Mill- Tradition Continues?
Last night my dad, mom, sister, and I went to the Benson Grist Mill in Stansbury, UT for their annual play. The did Annie Get Your Gun. It was a typical Benson performance- wonderful talent, bad sound, too many bugs, roasted almonds and seats that are slanted so you constantly slide forward.
It really was a lot of fun. However, as I looked around, it made me a little sad. The usually sold-out place was barely half-full.
Was something else going on in town? Are people not fans of Annie? Or, is it getting too expensive to take the family to these events?

Family Camping '08
Mom got on too. I don't think I've ever seen her on a four wheeler before. She loved it! We got to see a lot of deer in the meadows. One night I saw five different ones- including two fawns.
We took all the dogs over to the lake. Gus (far right) was the only brave one at first. We'd toss a toy way out in the lake, and he'd go get it. The other dogs waited on shore, then helped him bring it in the rest of the way. Poor Gus! Eventually, Cooper (the lab) started following
him out pretty far. Lady and Jackie would only go a few yards off shore- not bad.

Bowling with Fam
We found out a bowling alley offers "family bowling"- two hours, as many people as you want w/ shoes, a pizza and pitcher of drink- for one low price. We decided to invite my parent-in-laws, Andy's sister and her family, and his brother w/ his kids.
It was hilarious really! The four year old that couldn't pick up her own ball- she beat half of us. The brothers-in-law are so competitive they were actually doing voodoo signs behind each others' backs. Plus- we only had two hours. It got down to about 18 minutes, and people started running. We made it through one full game, and wanted to get as far into the 2nd as possible. Poor Andy- his performance on the first was, we'll say, not up to par. On the 5th frame of the 2nd, he had a 72 with an open spare. It would have been a beautiful game.
Then- the best part- we played games until after midnight. Normally, the boys win more, and us girls pick up 2-3. Last night- we won eight in a row. That's why we were up so late- the boys wouldn't stop until they won! Ha ha! Anyone ever try Sequence?

Basketball- It has been awhile
This blog isn't exciting. I'm just trying to get in the habit of keeping it updated. Sorry.
Growing up, Andy and I both loved basketball. He was basically obsessed. I spent countless hours during recesses playing. Plus- the neighborhood hoop was at my house.
Well, I've barely taken 10 shots in the last ten years, and Andy doesn't play very often. We decided to buy a ball, and start playing again.
We suck. We missed shot, after shot, after shot. Then, we missed some more. It was so pathetic, it was actually funny. Andy finally got in a groove, and was able to make some. I never did get the swing of it. (It didn't help that I was in heels- what was I thinking?)
We will go back out again. I had a lot of fun, and Andy can't let that be his last performance. But honestly- if the 5th graders that were at the park wanted to take us on- we would have been toast.

Our First Blog
I'm not even sure what to say, or how to say it. Andy and I are home tonight, and a little bored. So many people have blogs, I thought I'd toss our life into the land of the internet too. We'll see how it goes. I'm aahhed by some of my friends' blogs- full of pictures. I'll have to figure out how to add those. First, I'll have to actually get some pictures.
Well, a basic run down of our life right now- we are bored. Andy and I are both home a lot this summer, a phenomenon that has never happened. Andy's job is at home, and I'm not working full time. So much time together, and we want out of our house.
We both bought motorcycles this summer, so we've spent time riding them. I'll post pictures when I get them. We also ride regular bikes every now and again. And, we bought a basketball. We haven't played with it yet, but we will.
Well- there you have! The first whatsit about us.
